Everyone Needs A Family!
The family is God's idea. God wired you for relationships and put you into a family. God uses family terms to communicate spiritually important truths.
God is called "Our Father" and we are called "His children" and Jesus is called "Our Brother". Even terms that are used to describe our salvation are family terms. We are born into God's family - born again. We are birthed in a new birth. We are adopted into God's family.
Why does the Bible use these terms? Because the family is God's idea. It is a model of relationships that He wants us to have forever. Together during this message serices we will learn some keys to what makes strong families.
The family is the basic unit of society. Man did not think up the family. God thought it up. There was a family before there was a church. He made a husband and he made a wife and He said, have kids. And obviously that is a command that Americans and everybody else has obeyed because everybody is in the world.
But because we live on a broken planet, because of sin nothing works correctly; and because we live on a broken planet every family is broken. Every family is broken. There are no perfect families.
